THE BEAM!!!

Yesterday I was involved in an epic adventure that involved transporting a 9,000 ft long beam over 60 miles on an 18 ft trailer. Then carrying that 6,500 ft beam down 300 ft steps that were more steep than the North Face of Mt. Everest. Once at the bottom of the 412 ft tall cliff, I carried the 2,015 ft beam into a 2 ft narrow opening of a basement. After the 1,200 ft long beam was maneuvered around 17 columns and laid on the floor, I had to hand cut the steel beam with a hacksaw to get it to the exact length to fit. So the now 28 ft long beam had to be lifted up 8 ft in the air and welded into place.

I did all this by myself and the above mentioned lengths and descriptions are true. I have witnesses that can vouch for this. I had three strong, intelligent firefighters with me who stood around and watched in awe as I accomplished this tremendous feat. But I will say that they did bring my spirits up everytime they slow clapped for me when I would finish each step.

Here is a pic of the beam... It is hard to tell how big it is but for your reference... each one of those pieces of wood under the beam are 8 feet wide and 43 feet long.
